The date of foundation of the automobile brand Ravon (translated from Uzbek - "easy road, clean road") is October 8, 2015. The company became the legal successor of the UZ-Dаewoo brand, so their stories have a lot in common. In fact, all UZ-Daewoo models will now be presented on the territory under the Ravon trade name. The entry of this young brand to the market is seen as a logical and justified step on the path of development aimed at further improving product quality standards while maintaining a competitive pricing policy. The slogan of the Ravon brand is the phrase: “Time-tested, re-created”.
The history of the Ravon brand dates back to the distant 1992, when the South Korean auto concern Daewoo Motors signed a cooperation contract with the Uzbek joint-stock company Uzavtosanoat, within the framework of which a new structure was established - UZ-Daewoo Auto Co. Assembly facilities at the enterprise appeared only four years after the signing of the partnership agreement. Thus, in 1996, the production of three Daewoo cars started - Tico, Nexia and Damas. Five years later, they were joined by the five-door Matiz compact car.
In 2002, the American auto giant General Motors became a shareholder of UZ-Daewoo, soon after which GM DAT was formed.
In 2005, UZ-Daewoo bought out their share in the joint business from the Koreans, simultaneously completing the necessary documents for the release of models of bankrupt partners - Tico, Nexia and Damas.
Since 2008, the company has launched production of the improved Nexia-2 sedan. The assembly of cars under the Chevrolet and UZ-Daewoo brands was organized. In 2013, the Uzbek plant launched the production of the Daewoo Gentra sedan (a modified version of the Chevrolet Lacetti).
The launch of the Ravon brand in the fourth quarter of 2015 marks a new page in the company's history. Initially, the Ravon product line will be represented by three time-tested models - Matiz, Nexia and Gentra. Note that the Ravon Nexia is no longer the Nexia we have got used to: its place was taken by the Chevrolet Aveo with minor external transformations.
