Eunos is one of three brands created by Mazda in the late 1980s for the Japanese domestic market. Some of the Eunos cars were planned to be sold in the USA under the localized name Amati, but this was prevented by economic problems.
This car brand was intended to capture the premium segment of the market, and therefore has always been sold in maximum trim levels. It got its name from the ancient Greek "EU", which means "good" and the abbreviated English "numbers" - "NOS". In Japan, sales started in January 1992 with the Eunos 500, and a decent portion of the cars were exported to foreign markets. However, in the mid-1990s, Mazda recognized the brand diversification experiment as a failure and gradually returned to using one brand for all of its products.
Until 1995, the company produced the Mazda Eunos Cosmo model. It is a luxury car.
The Mazda Eunos Cosmo has been released as a coupe and sedan. The coupé model sold more in the United States market and in Europe. This model is designed for wealthy buyers. The Mazda Familia was also produced with a sedan body.
According to its technical characteristics, the Mazda Enos Cosmo model at that time seemed revolutionary. The car was equipped with a rotary turbocharged engine, the volume of which was 2.6 liters, and the power of 230 horsepower. In newer versions of the Mazda Eunos Cosmo, you could count on power up to 280 horsepower. The engine had distributed petrol injection.
The car had a luxurious interior. For the interior of the salon, natural materials such as leather and wood were used. The interior design was designed as the most harmonious for the driver's stay in it.
Back in the early 90s, Mazda had a hard time. A significant part of the released models were unpopular, some were immediately lost among the masses and remained unnoticed, therefore they disappeared from the automotive markets. The solution was found: to release a new - branded model Eunos. The new design of the Mazda Eunos 500 allowed the car manufacturer to gain insane popularity and it so happened that this model remained in the memory of motorists. The Mazda Eunos Cosmo was launched soon after.
Externally, the Mazda Enos 500, decorated in a sedan body, resembles a "bio-design" product. This car has external framing lines and geometric shapes as if drawn by nature. So this model became relevant and attractive forever. This model is also available in 2015.
